Free will is the essence of our being. Weakness is and always will be a matter of opinion. There was a time when being born into a certain caste or race was weakness. In Sodom and Gommorah, heterosexuality was regarded as weakness. In Sparta, compassion was weakness.
Today, an emotional breakdown is weakness. Who knows what the future will call it?
Weakness is also a tool, when tempered with anger, to invoke self improvement. I regard Christian lore (as well as any other religious lore) as storytelling because, quite simply, who the fuck knows? Believeable? Sure. Empathy, sympathy, and love can all be looked upon as weakness but so could power, avarice, and malice.
"Compassion in a man is admirable; in Gods, it is a vice"
